In improving standards in the public transport system and services, we recognise the need to cater to the elderly and physically handicapped commuters. As part of on-going efforts to make public transportation facilities accessible to the less mobile, these are some of the initiatives implemented.
MRT Stations are equipped with the following features- Wheelchair friendly fare gates
- Tactile ground surface indicators
- Access ramps
- Passenger lifts
- Low floors for easier wheelchair boarding
- Wheelchair room
- Wheelchair friendly handrails and alighting signal
